This might be their daughter Rebecca JOHNS- you would need to see the m/c for father's name

marriage 1873 Monmouthshire
Rebecca JOHN to George COOK

Marriage entry FreeBMD
Sep 1873 Pontypool   11a   206
JOHN Rebecca   name on same page COOK George

This looks to be George & Rebecca Cook on 1881c
Rebecca born c1851 Trevethin Monmouthsire

Is this William & Mary's son David JOHNS on 1871 census ?

Thank you. I know there was a connection with Hope Chapel, Commercial Street.
Where would family members most likely to have been buried.
Would like to know I any Johns turn in in the 1891 & 1901 census records for Newport.

Yes that is possible, suppose I need the m/c.
The records for Hope Chapel are very limited, not sure where they would have been buried in the local area, so that can see what records are available, if any.
