Thank you Rosie. I am starting to think that perhaps the original birth date I had for William Johns may be wrong (1818), as the 1851 & 1861 census records show his birth as 1814/1815. Think the census records are correct for 1851  1861. May be a question on Martha shown 1851 and Mathew in 1861. Records prove there was a Mathew, so where was he in 1851, unless Martha is Mathew.

You are correct just had a closer look at the original copy and Martha is Mathew  ;D

Thank you Rosie, I now have a definitive family line to work from, where records should be easier to find. Thank everyone for their fantastic input.
