How do you know that is your Mary Ellen Wakefield?

There is a Mary Ellen Wakefield born Markfield 1888 daughter of Levi, which would make her 23 in 1911.

If all you have is her name on a marriage cert as a witness - how do you know whether it was a maiden name or a married name?

Whay year was she 13??

If in 1911 - then she clearly is not the same person

Is this the google search you did  http://www.rootschat.com/links/01f1i/   ??

The second result from the search is the Markfield Quarry Workers in 1901 census and the summary mentions surnames Adcock Allen Anderson - three separate surnames - with later surnames beginning with B -  and in the same summary  -  Mary Ellen, Wakefield, Daughter, 13.  There is no relationship between the  surnames listed and Mary Ellen

Hello Danone,

Do you mean this one - household no 139 - Wakefield

I think the names you mention are from the surname list - you need to scroll down the page.

Regards
Heywood

I may have posted the same list as Kay99 - we both have identified the difficulty, I think.  :)

Yes  :). I assume that's the one. She is 13 in 1901. Danone mentions her 'proper' family which may mean the one you found.
