I live in Great Rollright and I am undertaking a local history blog, focusing on the life of Richard Widdows (aka Withers).

If you are a descendant of Withers, I am interested in hearing from you. Do you have any family stories about Withers?

I am particularly interested in the fantastic photo @brendaannc posted of Withers with the shepherd crook and dog. Percy Simms, a local photographer from Chipping Norton, took a number of photos of Withers that were featured in the local press (this photo looks as if it could also be by Percy Simms). The folk song collector Cecil Sharp also took photos of him when he wrote down a song from him.

@brendaanc I would like to seek permission to republish your photo on my blog. Please get in touch.
Many thanks
