Have came across this before maybe Joseph a middle name he is back to James on the 1861 census

There is also a Daniel Carrier born to Sarah 1839, died same quarter (possibly at birth?)

Going backwards there's a possible baptism for a Daniel Carrier at St Peter's Wolverhampton 17/03/1776, parents Daniel & Sarah.

Have found a Marriage at St. Peter's of Daniel Carrier and Sarah Hill 2nd Feb 1767 and baptisms of eight siblings of Daniel, baptised btween 1767 and 1788

There is a tree on ancestry that has death certificate for Daniel Carrier died 15/7/1850 Copelend Street Sedgley also other information worth a look
