Evesham Workhouse
« on: Tuesday 31 March 15 14:35 BST (UK) »
I have discovered some of my family in Great & Little Hampton Union Workhouse (Evesham) in 1851.  From the death of my 3x great grandmother, I know she died in the workhouse in 1846 in childbirth.  Some of her children remained there after her death - the youngest dying in 1856 in the same place.
I have looked at Peter Higginbotham's Workhouse site and wondered whether anyone knows whether any other records for this workhouse still exist - especially around the time my lot were there?
I'm not young enough to know everything.

Hi,

You could try The National Archives - http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ With Evesham and workhouse as search terms.

You could also try The Evesham Index.  This private index is not yet on-line.  But is accessible via webmail.  A full list of surnames is on our website at
http://www.bromsgrovebmsgh.co.uk/cms/worcestershire-resources/11-evesham-index.html

There's also a Worcestershire Forum Board on our branch website - www.bromsgrovebmsgh.co.uk
