Having missed Sarah Ann's death registration I've been looking for Robert under any surname variation I can think of but nothing so far.

Robert was no longer at the public house address in 1881 census even though he said he was a publican so perhaps he gave it up around Sarah Ann's death so he would most likely of had to find another occupation at some stage somewhere or other.
