I have found a birth on Scotlandspeople for the above and also on Familysearch which also shows his christening on 18/3/1827.
Does anyone know if I am able to view his christening record anywhere ?

Hi

You will need to buy credits on SP to view the full record.  Are you trying to find his parents?  If so - downloading a copy of his death cert will give you that info plus mothers maiden name - as long as he died from 1855 onwards

Skippy, Family Search do not show this birth & christening. From someone else's research, they show:

I have found on Familysearch a Robert Wark Mitchell b 1/2/1827 with parents John Mitchell and Anne nee Oliphant , I have also found his birth on Scotlandspeople but nigh on impossible to find a death for him on scotlandspeople .
Would someone be able to tell me if there is a way to find a marriage or death for him on Familysearch .

This post elsewhere is from 2013, before Family Search relauched its new databases etc. Maybe the reference to Family Search was from a member submitted entry. However, as Carole has mentioned, the original image on SP is to only way to confirm details.

Your best route now is SP for Robert's entry 

There are some children of John and Ann (Oliphant) indexed on Family Search. Again the original image is only available on SP.

Looks like it was only Robert's entry that doesn't show on the FS index....! At least for those children born past 1825.

Thank you CaroleW and MonicaL for replying,

looked at the birth on Scotlandspeople and it is the right Robert Wark Mitchell with parents John and Anne nee Oliphant the same as on familysearch, it also shows my 2 x gr.paternal grandmother Agnes b.1822 so I know it is the correct one. My problem is I cannot find a marriage or death for him.
I think I have found him on the 1841 census with his mother but she is using her maiden name Oliphant, the address is 199, Campbells lane, Murray Place, glasgow but apart from this nothing more, but thanks once again for helping,

Just looking through my records for the above named on scotlandspeople and saw after Robert's fathers name and occupation it says Port Dundas, would this have been where his father John was born or where the birth took place ?
Also there are 2 witnesses, both male but I don't recognize the names as family members, would the parents have chosen friends rather than family back then ?

Hi Skippy,

If you have viewed the original handwritten record on Scotlands People for Robert Wark Mitchell , then you have already looked at the Old Parish Record of his christening.   This will be the only record in existence.
I have checked on Scotlands People and the OPR Birth/Baptism record for Robert Wark Mitchell is dated 18th March 1827 which is according to an earlier reply by Monica the date of Robert's christening.
