John Thomas Parkinson. Born 1880 - Preston
« on: Friday 03 April 15 02:22 BST (UK) »
John T was the brother of my Grandmother- Susannah Parkinson. I have him on Census 1881 -1901. He appears to have married Sarah Cragg in 1901 in Preston. They then had 4 children - James() 1901), William Cragg (1904, died 1904), Frank (1905) and Alan (1907).
I cannot find the family on the 1911 Census and would also like to find out what happened to the family/ children later
Hope you can help. I am now going to do another posting about John T's father Thomas.

Val

Are you sure about the children? There's another Parkinson family in Preston with sons James (1901), Frank (1905) and Alan (1907)

I can see a John T Parkinson, with sister Susannah on 1891 and 1901 census in Preston - BUT the parents are George and Mary E Parkinson.  :-\

1891 - RG12/3438 folio 103 page 22

1901 - RG13/3945 folio 86, page 19

Will follow up on the other Parkinson Family.
I made a mistake with the Father,s name, I meant Grandfather. George and Mary Ellen are the parents.
ThankYou

I'm assuming you have the baptisms for George and Mary Ellen's children - shame I can't see John Thomas!!!  Address for all is given as 9 Kilshaw Street.

St Paul - Alfred - 1 February 1884 - Grinder
All Saints - Alfred - born 11 March, baptised 7 April 1886 - Grinder
All Saints - Susannah - 22 May, baptised 8 June 1887 - Grinder
St Thomas - George - 26 November 1891 - Grinder
St Thomas - William - born 26 November, baptised 6 December 1893 - Labourer
All Saints - Elizabeth - born 21 January, baptised 29 January 1896 - Labourer

Hello again,
John Thomas was baptised 6/6/1880 at St Johns. There were 11 children born but only 2 lived - John T and Susannah.
Also James 1879, Mary Jane 1882 ,Annie 1890 and Samuel 1892 were born besides the ones that you mentioned. very sad,
Thanks again

Val

Yes, I did see that only 2 children had survived out of 11.  As you say, very sad.
