Bastardly Records for Chipping Sodbury??
« on: Sunday 05 April 15 12:36 BST (UK) »
I wonder if there is anyone out there that can help me????? I have come across some details that were in an ancestors Service records. It says he was arrested on 16th March 1932 and sentenced on the 18th March 1932 at Chipping Sudbury Court where he was sent to Gloucester prison for 4 weeks for Debt Bastardly arrears in Chipping Sudbury. I wonder if anyone could look up the records for me to see who this could refer to, and any names of child or mother etc?? This is something that is deffiantly not known about in the family?

The relative in question is Alexander Elijah Percy Champion NOAD born 1897 in Chipping Sodbury, he was baptised in Marshfield.

Alexander later married in Norwich, Norfolk but was away in the Army till 1937 but his family parents etc remained in the Chipping Sudbury area?

I have put another posting asking for help regarding Gloucester Prison records separate as i thought was a separate querrie although it is linked??

Thanking you very much for any help any one can give me?
Jackie

Hi Lisajb,

Thank you for your reply, unfortunatley I live in Norfolk, so I am unable to visit the record office in Gloucester?

Hi Jackie
There is a rootschat member - Victor Harvey - who offers Gloucester archive lookups. Take a look at the lookup offers thread on the Gloucester board, it may be worth your while getting in you touch with him.
