I did some searching last night for riverside country houses in the Berwick area, nothing that matches but there were some beautiful houses to see.  I will have a search through newspapers too, see what comes up  ;D

You are SO clever Yorkslass!!! How on earth did you find it? :o

So that IS a river rather than a wall?

Please someone buy this house! I think that the price is reasonable considering the size and location. Very nice indeed!!!

I found this interesting:
Balhomie is a magnificent Scots Baronial ‘C’ Listed country house built in 1901. It has a harled exterior under a slated roof and with its crow steps, turrets, fine dressed stone architectural details and astragal sash and case windows it is very much the quintessential Scottish country house. Balhomie was built by Lord Ernest and Lady Moon as a shooting lodge and it is understood the situation of the house was chosen during a picnic when Lady Moon expressed her love of the view and so Lord Moon built a house on the very same site.

So looking at the fashions in the photos the house was probably quite new then - so I wonder if the people are the Moons?

If you look on Google earth maps, Balhomie house and Balhomie farm appear to be the same place. It is overlooking the river Tay, but quite a distance from it, not as near as it seems to be on the photo.
Could this be Mrs(Lady) Moon? This is Emma Moon painted in 1888, she was a young Australian lady who married an English barrister. If the house was built in 1901 she is at least 13 years older in that photo.
