Margaret Benet Married Dennis Duffy both were born in Ireland ....

Dennis born 1803 died in 1853 Quebec City ...

Margaret was born abt.1808 and died in 1883 Quebec City ...

Anywhere I can find info on when and how they arrived in Canada it had to be before 1838 ...

Welcome to Rootschat
Do you know when/where the couple married ?
Have you tried to find them on passenger list ?
Many Irish people travelled to Great Britain, from there to Canada and elsewhere
Ireland was part of (ruled by) England, so there are no passenger lists between Ireland and England/Great Britain
Surnames might be spelled in different ways such as Bennet Benad or O Neal
Have a look at Irish resource board for more tips on finding Irish ancestors

No,I do not know where they were married,I feel Que.but not sure.I have tried passanger lists they are hit and miss. Many family members from Ireland,I feel the only way is to travel to the Church in Que.I am unable to do that.I have spoken to the people at the Cemetary all recorded as born in Ireland.
I would think asking for this type of information from the early 1800s would not be so hard to find, the population was so small and Canada was not even a Country at the time, still it seems to be a problem You have to go to the area and search in person. It is much easier to search England.

For instance my late husband's great grandfather is first found in Quebec City Census in 1851 it tells the family he was born in England about 1831.All information after is the same born in England about 1831.

Civil registration for Births began in 1864 for Ireland
To find any births prior, you need to find Baptismal record.
Church records will be available online later this year.
But not all parishes kept good records.
Civil registration of Non Catholic marriages began in 1845

If you could find Marriage cert, it may give clues to further your search.
