Catherine/Katherine/Caroline
« on: Thursday 09 April 15 23:33 BST (UK) »
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. I'm trying to make sense of this family, the wife's name seems to change a bit though the dates stay the same. I have some census returns which I think are correct.
Q1: Is it reasonable to think that Caroline and Catherine/Katherine are the same person?
Q2: Can anyone find a death record for Caroline/Catherine/Katherine?
Q3: Some evidence that John 1824 remarried Ellen before 1881, is this the same John?

1851c
John George 1824
Caroline 1817
Jane 1845
Thomas 1847 (bap record says mother is Catherine)
Ann 1849
Mary Dewey 1783 (mother-in-law)

1861c
John George 1824 (groom&gardener)
Catherine 1817
Thomas 1847 (bap record says mother is Catherine)
Ann 1850
John 1852
James 1854
Frank W. 1859

1871c
John George 1825 (groom&gardener)
Katherine 1818
John 1852
James 1854
Frank 1859

THANKS GUYS!
Hywel

The only death I can see for Catherine is December Quarter 1874 Volume 5a page 100 aged 60.  it is only a couple of years out and would depend on who actually registered the death knowing her age.

Is this the second marriage?:
John George and an Ellen Wills/Wells Christ Church Warminster 30th August.1876

i agree with Mo.
Looks OK to me, Catherine (which can be interchangable with Caroline) died and he remarried Ellen Wills.
Buying both M/C's is the only way to be totally sure though.
