Sorry been having trouble accessing site (my end).

Thank you for responses.

Williams father is Samuel (1802) and mother Maria Scott.

I'm looking into his brother Fredrick; I have him on the 1851 census but then can't trace him.

When I'm on a PC I will gather all the info from this thread

Thank you very much to you

William of samuel and maria applebee 8/6/1828 at ardleigh.
Siblings: Eliza 1823, Samuel 1825, james 1830, Frederick 1833
There's also a mary Ann 1836. Only maria named as parent. I couldn't find a death for samuel around the time though, so not sure what happened there.

1)Eliza Appleby wife of William (1828) was buried at Ardleigh 7 November 1861 age 49.
2)As to the disappearance of his father Samuel Appleby, there is an entry in 9 March 1835 estimated birth 1805 of a Samuel Applebee convicted of burglary and sentenced to death at the Essex Assizes, he was instead transported to Tasmania for life leaving 18 June 1835 arrived October 1835. He received a ticket to leave in 1843, he was number 683 and pardoned. Maybe find a website on the Australian convicts and find out if he stayed or came back to England.
3) The Samuel Applebee who married Maria Scott at Tollshunt Knights 5 April 1823 said he was from Goldhanger.
