Hi there

I may be missing something here but on West Midlands bmd there are only 2 deaths registered in 1856,

John T Powell  Oldbury
John Powell Dudley

http://www.westmidlandsbmd.org.uk

Might that help if they were 2 different registration districts?

Hi Shirl
Thanks for the reply yes i got them two one was 1851 the other 1856
actually went to smethwick archives on saturday to look for them found the 1856 one
which was not ours i could not see the 1851 on there i actually asked the archavist to look
incase it was my eyes but he said it is not on there yet west midlands site said it is
as in 1850 christ church was the only church then in oldbury i was told
i am wondering now if it was registered in langley as the 1851 census it says parish of langley.
thanks for your help.
Keith.

It's all part of the fun ruling things out, it looks as though the record for 1851 is at Sandwell Register Office  - good luck with your research
