Looking for Leightons

I am interested in ascertaining what happened to John Leighton who was born in South Cave, Yorkshire on 12 May 1851.  I am mainly interested in the period 1887 - 1891 and any information regarding his sons John William and Walter.  His daughters Ann and Sarah were resident in the Port of Hull Orphans Home

This would appear to be William and Walter on the 1901, living with their mother and step father -

There's a James Leighton aged 5 b Goole in the Hull Seamans and General orphan asylum in 1891. However I can;t see a birth for him in Goole so wonder if he is John incorrectly recorded

Is this the family on the 1881 census living 3,Wilson Buildings Rawcliffe in Goole lodging with a Stephen Grace..
John Leighton b 1852 Rawcliffe in Goole occupation general labourer
Jane H Leighton b 1855 Stainforth Yorkshire
Ann Leighton b 1880 Stainforth Yorkshire ??

Marriage for Jane Hannah Sales/Sayles 1873 Sheffield to a John Leighton

Marriage for Jane Hannah Leighton 1891 Goole to Thomas Steels

JJen got the family in 1901 census

There is a prison record for a John Leighton b 1851 age 28 occupation puddler residence Goole being sent to Wakefield  prison for neglecting his family 27/8/1879

Is this the marriage for the daughter Ann Leighton 7/8/1899 Shipley St Paul County of York to a Tom Hudson ....Father's name John Leighton ( mariner ) deceased ?

Not seeing a death for John ? Is this his wife on the 1891 census Jane H Layton age 39 Widow working for a Henry Preston Kingston Upon Hill Yorkshire

There is a army record for a Walter Leighton b 1888 age 29 W R RGT service number 81404 gives a marriage 11/10/1913 Parish Church Drypool Kingston upon Hull to a Maud Sanderson
