This is from one of your other threads, perhaps you missed it.

Pre 1856 in NSW is just an entry from a burial register, not a death cert.  Sometimes cause of death is given in the burial register, sometimes it isn't.  Someone with a family tree on Ancestry has already obtained a transcription and it doesn't give cause of death.

Yes, but there's the second chap,  Walter NOY aged 86 Vol 32B,  line 789  :)

Add

I did go through the old newspapers of the time and didn't fine much, apart from 2 days before they died, there was a Aboriginal attack near where they were living. 2 people died (reported).

Hi,

I finally got to the Queensland State Library today and was able to find some Michael Noy pre 1856 NSW information.

Please send me your email address by the PM method and I will send the scanned copies of the records.

Records found were.

Nice copy of the marriage for a Michael Noy and Elizabeth Dodds in 1844 at Richmond.

Burial record for Michael Noy in 1847 (28) at Richmond with his abode, and the ship he came in on.

Burial record for Walter Noy (87) at Penrith in 1847.

Baptism for Anne Noy at Richmond in 1845.

Baptism for Emma Noy at Richmond in 1847.

Couldn't find the baptism for Michael J Noy.

Volumes 124 - 158 are only held at the NSW Registry and Michael J Noy's baptism record was in 158, likewise with Anne's baptism record but I did stumble across hers in the 1845 Richmond records for some reason.

If others would like info on these to assist with more Michael Noy research please get back to me.

Gerry

Hi JM,

There were only 32 burials for the Richmond C of E in 1847.

I have written that down for when I get to 1847 with my NSW documentations.   I am currently up to 1829 now.

I was just reading about the new convict records from the UK Archives which have been added to Findmypast (subscription required).

There are entries for Michael NOY in:

Home Office: criminal petitions Series 1 (TNA Ref: HO 17)

These records provide details of petitions for just over 16,300 people for the period 1817-1858. Convicted criminals, or their family and friends, made a petition when they wanted to revoke or reduce the sentence. Occasionally, the governors of convict prisons recommended prisoners for early release for good behaviour.

Home Office: Register of criminal petitions (TNA Ref: HO 19)

There are over 77,000 records for the Home Office registers of correspondence relating to criminal petitions.

The copied letters will often refer to previous correspondence which may or may not have survived and will usually give the outcome of the appeal.
