Hiya S. Roberts, to the best of my knowledge Dennis was not married, he was sadly only just aged 20 when he died, there are a few other family members although I think most of them have now died as well. I will check through the family tree later today and update you. GedB

thank
I have just returned from France, visiting my Grandfathers grave in Ranville CWGC site.

A friend who researches military history asked if I would take a photo of a school in a village called Dozulé where my grandfather was held (it was used as a infirmary)

Opposite the school is a monument to the liberators of Dozulé, and it is used as a cenotaph on remembrance Sunday and relevant memorial days.

The memorial has the names of two soldiers engraved on it.
George Roberts - my grandfather
and Dennis Delahunt.

i did not know that this memorial existed and I have not found another memorial in the northern France area that was not dedicated to a regiment or officer.  To find one that names a ordinary soldier stood out.

I thought the remaining relatives should know about this as it is something to be proud of.

I then, for nostalgias sake looked at my grandfathers headstone photographs I took and realized that Dennis is buried in the next grave to him.

i wanted to know if he had children who would still be alive today.
I know when and where he was killed, the village it happened in and where he is buried.

just found a bit of information his family may not know.

I can't see a marriage for him. He died at such a young age. Did he have brothers or sisters?

Added possibly 4 sisters and 2 brothers so nieces and nephews?

The family for Dennis consisted of-
Francis J 1921–2012 who we know had a son by his first marriage.
Joan 1922-1999 who married and had a daughter.
George 1925-1925
Marjorie 1926- 1947 died without marrying
Elizabeth 1928- 1928
Honoria 1928-1928

I have no contact details for either the niece or nephew and there doesn’t appear to any other trees for people researching their families so I am afraid the thread looks to be at an end which is a great shame with all the superb information you have unearthed. GedB
