Hi,

I've not found a marriage but his entry in the National Probate Calendar (1965) gives probate to Robert Pugh, farmer and Emily Madeley, widow.   So if that is the same person Madeley is her married name.

Hi ManU,

Sorry bit confused by your post.

Fred Eric Pugh is born 1893? He would only be 10 in 1903?

Whose marriage are you looking for? His mother Mary Jane?

 ;D ;D ;D ;D
Sorry should have typed 1913
replying to Nanny Jan sounds as if you have the right emma will dig deeper thanks if I can find a marriage it will give me Mary Jane maiden name I hope
replying to avm228 Mary's graveheadstone says Mary Jame Pugh its not a great photo so I assumed it said Jane, it seems a bit late for a marriage in 1932 but will not discard at this stage
cheers to all

She died as Mary Jane Pugh on 9 June 1956 at Loppington. Probate to Fred Eric Pugh and Robert Pugh, farmers.

Death reg details suggest she was 81 at death.  If so she was significantly older than Fred.

Have you traced births for any known children of the couple, to ascertain mother's maiden name?

Hi AVM228
Not been successful but have found a marriage for Mary Janes sister Emily she married a Joseph Burden in 1927 so am in the process of checking that out - maybe the 1932 marriage is reasonable but will see what Burden throws up
cheers all from downunder :D :D

I think Emily Pugh married  John Burden in 1909 and then a Joseph Madeley in 1927 and that Mary Jane Pugh was  Freds sister.
