The Mary Jane Pugh who died in 1956 is shown as a spinster.  Some online trees show her to be Fred Eric Pugh's sister, not wife.

At last some light at the end of the tunnel - never gave it a thought she was a sister not a wife - it all makes sense thanks guys

Emma nee Richards & Edward Pugh had at least 11 children, Hannah 1873, Mary (it appears this is Mary Jane) 1875, Joseph 1877, Edith 1880 she died March 1916, Francis 1882, another Mary but is not confirmed 1887, Arthur 1889, Charlie 1892, Fred Eric December qtr 1893 , George Arnold 1896 and Robert in 1900.

The next problem is where is Emily 1883 - Stop Press just found it FreeBMD Wem 6a Page 740 but no confirmation on mother

1891 census shows Edward and Emma with 6 children at home;  Joseph (1878), Edith (1880), Emily (1882), Francis (1884), Harry (1887) and Arthur  (1889).
