LIGHTFOOT in Walton, North Bucks
« on: Wednesday 15 April 15 15:34 BST (UK) »
Currently researching the LIGHTFOOT family, who ran an inn in Walton called "The Angel", later "The Pine Tree".  John took the inn with his with Martha just before 1838, he was born in North Crawley. John died 1857, wife continued with the inn until their son William took over in 1875.  William married Elizabeth EASTMAN in 1869.

William and Elizabeth had two daughers, Margaret Elizabeth and Frances Ellen.  Margaret married a George GRAVES, but there were no children. Frances married Capt. Frank POULTON of the Church Army in Luton, and had one daughter, Daisy.

I know there is a great photo of the family outside the inn at Bucks archives. The inn closed 1909, and I can't find William or Elizabeth on the 1911 census.  Any other family information welcome.

Researching Woburn Sands (was Hogsty End), Wavendon, Aspley Heath and Walton.

Bingo!  Thanks for the tip, Rosie, found as LIGHTFORT on Findmypast!  Now I can look for burials in Wavendon.

Where was this Pub? The Pine Trees was in Aylesbury but your people are from North Bucks. Not a great distance i know but there are two areas called Walton in Bucks and the district or parish of Walton nearest your roots is in Milton keynes near Fenny Stratford.

Sorry, I should have made it clearer.  Mine is the North Bucks Walton, between Wavendon and Simpson, not the Aylesbury one.

I have literally just had the permission to add a photo of the Lightfoots to my page about the inn, which is here:
