I seek the birth certificate for Thomas Jones born in Lampeter circa 1847.

Here is the probate record for John Jones:
"The Will of John Jones late of Temple Terrace, Lampeter, who died 29 Jan. (1879) at Temple Terr. was proved at Carmarthen by the Rev Thomas Jones, The Vicarage Eglwyswrw, Pembroke Clerk and William Jones of the Cambrian Shoe Factory, sons two of the executors."

I have followed John, Elinor, Thomas and William through their lives; I have visited Temple Terrace and the churchyard in Lampeter where John and Elinor are buried and am 100% certain of the connection.

NO. On the marriage entry in the parish record, the bride is Elinor Thomas. What was her father's christian name? I don't know.

Try ceredigion.gov.uk and go to Births, Deaths, Marriages and Civil Partnerships section.   There you should find the addresses and telephone numbers for the registrars at Cardigan, Lampeter and Aberaeron.    The former is the Superintendent Registrar, the other 2 are by arrangement.   The web site gives contact details etc.

I was also wondering if the birth could have been registered in Carmarthenshire, since Elinor and John, the parents of Thomas, had ties with Pencarreg and/or Llanybyther I believe.
