William Greenway 1884 Hertfordshire

I am looking for any information for my great-grandfather, William Greenway.  He was from Pembury or Penbury Hertfordshire.  I can find nothing for him before 1911 when he emerged in the 1911 census for the Channel Islands as a bombadier in the Royal Garrison Infantry.  Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming he married at some time, do you have details from the Cert - Fathers name, Occupation ?

The only Pembury I can find is in Kent, neat Tunbridge Wells  - theres no Penbury either in Herts ?

Added: any middle name ?
 
Did he stay in the Army for WW1 - might find a Service Record / Pension / Medal Card with more clues ...

His medal card is on Ancestry
There are 2 addresses in Alderney and 1919 Bombay India on the back.
As he was a regular soldier I'd try his service record.

Thank you.  I have found the Victory medal card but not his service record. Thank you for the Bombay tip. I see that now.   I also found the 1911 census where he was listed in Alderney.  This is where it says Penbury Hertfordshire as his home and his father's home.  Know one knows if there is a middle name.  I can find nothing before this but did find his marriage to my great grandmother Adele Coombes in Alderney.  The source I have on Ancestry only shows Greenway and Coombes.  No first names and no parents.
I am curious if there is a record of enlistment and how I could find that.  I am told that he ran away after his brother sold him to a farmer and joined the army by lying about his age.

There is a public tree on ancestry with a marriage to Adele Violet Coombes in 1913, with information about her parents, but unsourced.  (Quite a bit of information about her family on Alderney)

Do you know the name of the owner of the tree?  It may very well be my own.
I know he died in Alderney, but I do not know when.  He spent the remainder of his life there.  He married after Adele passed, but I do not know to whom.  He had a son, Glynn from that marriage.
