Another magnificent photograph. The two soldiers in tam o' shanters were from Scottish regiments, don't know which. The soldier standing right was Parachute Regiment.

No problem, the experts will see your Thread soon. Trouble for me is cap badges are side on. One Canadian, again no problem, they had and still do? have Scottish regiments.

Without checking my book as you look at the picture the chap on the left could be Black Watch (IIRC they were the only Scottish Regiment to have a dark hackle) The other Scottish Regiment (Front Row) could be you Canadian guy and on the right as already mention is 100% Parachute Regiment. The only way to find out for sure and identify the battalions they were in is apply for a copy of their service records at £30 each. They are fundamental to any serious military research and without them you're just guessing.

Looking at the chap on the left again he looks to be wearing the 51st Highland Division Flash on his right arm. This is post 1940 as the BEF one was a Stags Head. If this is the case and that's a big if. He would be 1st, 5th or 7th Battalion Black Watch - Pure educated guess work on my part. Service Records are the way forward-He may have only been wearing this cap badge for 6 months before being transferred to another unit.
