Thistle Inn West Port Falkirk 1850's

Does anyone know where the West Port Thistle Inn was in Falkirk as my gt gt gt gran is the Innkeeper there in 1851 Are there any more records on this Inn  Thanks Josie

If you look at the census entry on Freecen you can click to the next households and get an idea of the location. There are also old maps on the NLS web site to check against. Doing this it looks to me that West Port seems to have been between West Bridge St and the High Street and doesn't appear to be named on the town plan from about this time. The next household to the Thistle Inn on freeCen is listed as Lint Riggs (West Port) which seems to suggest it's on the corner of these two which would put the inn just before the corner. The map showes a number of Inns in the location (The Crown, The Swan and the Market) but not the Thistle unfortunately.

Perhaps someone more familiar with the area can confirm if this seems right.
