Different results for siblings?
« on: Tuesday 21 April 15 16:55 BST (UK) »
I am told that DNA test results for ethnicity can vary between siblings due to individual mutation. My brother and I have tried this and it seems the variation does occur although the difference is small.

It came as a surprise to us both and also the family. I am assuming that this is the mutation effect showing through but also that the results are estimates as many of the testing companies state.

Has anyone else come across this as well?

Before anyone asks....yes we do have the same biological parents ;D

This is a question that has come up several times on the forum of ftDNA so if you are a member there you might want to look them out and the replies given
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.
