The notice is under the Trustee Act 1925 s27 which seems to deal with ensuring that all claims against an estate are made before probate is granted.

Thankfully I've not had to deal with probate myself yet, so I'm not an expert!

Late addition ..... I just checked his grant of probate and his estate was £22,798 so I doubt he was bankrupt!

Looks like it was Alfred Sydney that took over the Business after 1935 .You can find his probate figures on same site 1976. He certainly wasn't bankrupt.
Cant see any probatefor Henry George in 1983 or 1990.There is one that could be a possible for Charles in1983 over in Essex.
