Elizabeth Frances LANE b1860
« on: Wednesday 22 April 15 12:58 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for information on Elizabeth Frances LANE, who was born in Q2 1860 in Rugby, Warwickshire. She was born into a railway family, her father was John Lane and her mother Mary Gettliffe.

Work brought the family to Wandsworth in South London, where in Q2 1885 Elizabeth, 25, married James WOODASON, 29. She seems to have dropped her first name after her marriage and used her middle name of Frances.

In 1891, the couple were living in Dashwood Road, Battersea. James was 35 and Frances was 30.

In 1901, they were living at Kennard Street, Battersea. James was 48 and Frances 40.

After that they seem to disappear from the record. I can't find them in the later census, nor can I find deaths. Did one of them die? Did the other one re-marry?

As always, all help greatly appreciated.

AVM - I'm amazed. I searched for WOODASON on FreeBMD between 1901 and 1911 in Surrey and didn't get a hit. After your post, I did it again, this time narrowing it down to Wandsworth and still didn't get a hit. What index are you using?

UPDATE

I'm afraid that I still can't find a reference for this death on either Ancestry or Free BMD. Could you supply one?

I think the James Woodson in Berkshire is a different one, though he was married to an Elizabeth.

Try 'Elizabeth F Wood*' - which is what free bmd actually has.

Added:
The related image is very faint on part of the index.
