Wedding Photo with Colquhoun and Rennie guests.
« on: Friday 24 April 15 08:29 BST (UK) »
This wedding photo was taken at the Bath Hotel, Glasgow around 1910. My Great Uncle William Colquhoun and his wife Agnes King are in the photo as are my Great Aunt Agnes Flora Colquhoun and her husband William Rennie. These people were farmers in Cardross for a time. The Colquhouns then moved to Renfrewshire and the Rennies moved to Midlothian. I'm hoping to find out who the bride and groom are and also the identity of any of the other guests. I know this is a long shot but has anyone seen this photo and or recognise anyone in it? Thank you.

You wouldn't happen to be related to Miss Agnes Colquhoun the school Mistress at Muirlands Primary School Arden ? Her parents were john and agnes (nee Hawson from Renfrewshire ). I am more intreseted in her sister Helen Mitchell who was a lovely lady I knew many years ago . x

I don't have any of the Colquhouns you mentioned in my family tree but it's possible that there is a family connection. My Colquhoun ancestors who were farmers moved from Old Kilpatrick to Cardross in the mid 1800's. I was born about a mile from Muirland and there were a lot of Colquhouns in the surrounding area. I'll ask my older sister if she knows anything about the people you mentioned. Did you post on Helensburgh Memories yesterday on the same topic? Good luck in your search.

Sorry I don't recognise anyone in the photo but I am related to the Colquhoun's that you mentioned, would you be able to point them out in the photo?

Thank you for your reply krisdmp96. I'm been told by some of my/our Colquhoun relatives that my Great Aunt Flora Agnes Colquhoun is the back row 3rd from the right and my Great Uncle William Scott Colquhoun is 2nd row 2nd from the right. Flora was married to William Rennie who is standing on her right. I believe the bride is a sister of William Rennie. I think William's wife Agnes King is 5th from the right back row standing beside William Rennie. My Mum was a Colquhoun. I'll pm you. Thank you.
