Wrong familes I'm afraid, the David Belcher I'm checking on was married around 1891 and had the children I mentioned in my post.
I have no knowledge of him being married previously, and I'm fairly certain he was not.

Think she died 1889, but Ancestry have her age as 89 not 39

Well done Mabel - so your train of thought is that David Belcher was married previously - hence the children showing on the 1891 census.
As Keyboard shows the 1891 census gave 2 children born prior to the marriage of David and Sarah Hannah Dealey.
The marriage of Rose Elizabeth Belcher 19 August 1899 - names her father as David Belcher.

Hi Samuel Dealey was baptised 14th January 1885 St Peter Berkhampstead Mother Annie abode Wilderness? ( on earlier returns Sarah Hannah/Ann uses her middle name), on the same day a David Belcher occ Labourer and Mary of Red Lion Square baptised a David Belcher, he died March qtr 1886 Berhampstead 3a 387 aged 1
