Some background on Ethel Murray
« on: Sunday 26 April 15 22:13 BST (UK) »
I believe that a lady called Ethel Murray died in Hull or thereabouts in May 1942.  I'd like to find out a bit more about her.  How old was she?  She certainly wasn't a youngster, having been a paid member of a choir which sang each Sunday at the Hull Charterhouse for 40 years up to 1941.  Was she married?  I'd be grateful for help since I don't have a subscription to anything at the moment.

Thanks, I reckon that's her.  She could well have gone to Wharfedale to escape the bombing of Hull.  I take it that in 1891 she wasn't married?

An 1881 census has Ethel C B Murray marked as Blind.    Edit: also 1891 census says this..

Parents appear to be Thomas Woodhall Murray and Mary Ann Hutton.
