If they haven't changed the numbering 131 Duke Street is still there. It's the door with the "Luxury Accommodation" sign above it:-

Here is a map showing Duke Street and Liverpool Workhouse, Brownlow Hill:-

Hi Blue, Thanks for all that added info / links that you came up with.. Very helpful indeed..
Yes I agree with your thoughts and it looks to be a high chance that he was treated in the workhouse facility and the address is a boarding house only.. The map u sent was great painting the picture of the location proximity and the house images were really good also and they look like they have retained there character from all those years that have passed...

The census makes reference to a workshop for the blind and I wonder if William Morland was supporting this within his profession... I think its a case of waiting now for the death cert...

First Class Blue for your interest and help..

My sincere thanks
Scott Morland

William Morland - Is my Great Grand Uncle

Sadly for William dying so young it was due to Pneumonia and linked to alcohol. I attach the death cert to give closure to this thread and what happened to William.. (my Personal view) I cant help but think of William being a lonely man, travelling for work so far away from his family.. I would suspect that his family would have found out after the fact of his death and no attendance to his funeral would have been possible.. I am thinking there is no marked grave for William which would be a shame...
William is now not forgotten and wishing it was for better circumstances .. I thank again all for the help and interest of this William Morland

Regards
Scott Morland

All deaths are sad at least you know he was being looked after in the Workhouse hospital at the end of his life.
