Jacoby in Bad Kreuznach
« on: Monday 27 April 15 17:03 BST (UK) »
According to the death certificate from the state of Michigan USA my paternal great grandmother was born May 15, 1878, Bad Kreuznach, Germany to Nathan Jacoby and Josephine Frank Jacoby...her madien name was Fannie Jacoby, She immigrated to the USA and lived and passed in Detroit, Michigan. I would love to find out more about her, her family in Bad Kreuznach...if her family continued to live there after she left, if they died and are buried there and where.

Would appreciate any help if possible. I am now 65 myself and unable to travel so I will never to able to visit where she was from or see parts of her Jewish heritage.

Thnak you very much in advance for any help provided

Do you know when she arrived in the USA, and who she married?

Thank-you

Interesting piece which mentions  Fannie Jacoby Marx Landsburg

http://www.larrya.us/bookb.html

another link which mentions possible sisters and a brother

http://www.geni.com/people/Fannie-Marx/6000000031666632250

Wife of Albert Marx -   Mother of Irwin John Marx -
Sister of Rosa Marx -  Emma Natternheimer -  Johanette Maier -  Caroline Levy and Albert Jacoby

There is a possibility for Albert Jacoby - passenger list 25 June 1887 with an Albert Jacoby aged 14 years and  Emma Jacoby aged 18 years. Bremen, Germany to New York - 25 June 1887 on the ship Aller.  ???

The passenger list above for Albert in 1887 could be the correct one according to 1930 census Cherry Avenue Queens, New York for Albert Jacoby. Unfortunately those early passenger lists don't give a lot of information. It might be that some of Fannie's family were also in the USA.  ???

Albert Jacoby  55 Born Germany. Immigrated 1887. NA. Labourer. Contractor. Age at first marriage 32 years.
Sadie Jacoby  54 Born Germany. Immigrated 1903. First married at 31 years.
Josephine B Jacoby  23 Born NJ. Secretary. Office.
Ethel R Jacoby  21 Born NJ. Secretary. Office.
Nathan M Jacoby  19 Born NY. Clerk. Bank.
Sidney L Jacoby  18 Born NY. Draughtsman. Office.

Hoping for obituaries for these two death records which are possibilities for Albert and Sadie. So fra just a short piece on the death of Sadie.

Sadie Jacoby - aged 56 years - 3 July 1931 Queens NY. Cert :- 4617

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?action=post;topic=719252.0;last_msg=5630378

Also a short piece on http://fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html - Daily Star - 6 July 1931 to say Sadie was rushed to St Johns Hospital but passed away with a heart attack  :'(

Albert Jacoby - aged 72 years - 10 April 1946 - Bronx  ??? - Cert :- 3751

In case it becomes useful - the birth date given for Albert Jacoby on the WW1 Draft was 4 August 1873 - short - medium build - brown hair - brown eyes - no distinguishing marks.
