I am helping research a family for a lady in Australia, and in doing so have come across Matthew John Knight, Master Mariner, born Bridport 1843 and married to Ellen Emma Hutchings, born Crewkerne 1851.
From what I have discovered so far, Matthew seems to have been a colourful character.
