Station Master George Albert Hughes at Forden
« on: Monday 27 April 15 22:07 BST (UK) »
George Albert Hughes born 1902 'became a Station Master at Forden near Welshpool'.
Any railway channels of information? Married in Oswestry 1928, presumably lived at the Station House?

Thanks for the links. They match with the parish registers that I was able to find. I did wonder if the 'railway' aspect and Albert being a Station-Master might mean there was some information out there other than the 'usual' parish registers?

Forden was a station of the Oswestry and Newtown Railway.

In 1864 it merged with other railways to form The Cambrian Railway.

And became part of GWR in 1923.

Maybe Cambrian Heritage Railways can help?

Or try Ancestry's Railway Employment Records; specifically the Great Western Railway records.
If you don't have access to Ancestry, your local library might?
