Martha Carnaby

Hi!
    Can anyone help with the following?

I have a Martha Carnaby baptised 1712 at Corbridge, (daughter of a Richard and Jane Carnaby). I believe Martha married a William Hogarth in 1734 at Corbridge and had issue: William 1735, Robert 1737, Hannah 1739, Carnaby 1741, Mary 1743, Elizabeth 1746 and Robert 1749.

I think Marthas father Richard Carnaby was born in 1676 at Corbridge (possibly son of a William Carnaby died 1686 and Jane Surtees?) and his siblings were: Lancelot 1676, Jane 1671, and John 1686.

Any help with any of the above much appreciated!

Hi Trish.

Here is my penny's worth if it is any good.  I was having a good neb at Halton Hall near Halton Shields - on the B1318 road leading up from Chollerford.  The hall is associated with the Blackett family but there was also mention of the surname Carnaby - I only noticed this as I have a former colleague with that surname.  Hope this does not muddy the waters too much.

With my original posting I made a mistake on Baptisms;

Should have been William 5 Feb 1695/6, buried 6 March 1696/7 and Jane 7 March 1696/7

Likely 2nd Marriage for Richard;

02 Mar 1697/98, Cathedral, Durham, Durham
Rich CARNABY, Groom abode Corbridge*** to Hannah GIBSON, Bride abode Bywell St Andrew

So its looks  to me that Mary Carnaby nee DUNNE died after giving Birth to Jane.

Richard then remarried to Hannah GIBSON and all Children Baptised after this, Mary/Jane/Hannah/Elizabeth/Martha/ have her as their Mother.

We have descendants from William Hoggard and Martha Carnaby. Carnaby family is very interesting. I have more info on Martha's family if you require
