My WhatsApp photos go into my photos app on my phone where they are automatically labeled 'WhatsApp' so easy to find. It seems they are automatically stored in the photo album so when I copy photos from my phone to PC they all just transfer across.
Not a technical reply but my phone (Samsung Galaxy something) just does it, maybe your phone had them stored already too but you haven't spotted them?

Good luck!

I also have a Samsung Galaxy. When i attached the phone to the pc only the photos actually taken with my phone would upload to Picassa and all the WhatsApp pics that my daughter sent me wouldn't transfer. if your phone is the same as mine then i'm obviously missing something !!!

Admit i'm not technically 'with it' but it's frustrating, if your pics transfers automatically then mine must too as we both have the same phone!!!  i'll go and press a few more buttons  ::)

Thanks for replying and it must just be my lack of tech nohow !!   poli

Hi Poli, I'm not very techie either, I usually have to rely on the younger generation to help out. I don't use Picassa, just plug in phone to laptop, wait for the options to come up, then select 'open folders to view files'. After that I get to the photos option (DCIM?) & select the photos, copy and paste into 'My Pictures'.
I think that's it - haven't done it for a while (memo to self - get on & do it!)

On my phone, in the Gallery there's a separate What's App folder. Tap the photo and the Share option appears (looks like a water molecule!) you can then email it from the email address associated with your phone to an alternative email address. I think the share option used to appear in the App itself but it looks like they removed it.
I think in Windows 8.1 you can access all the stuff saved to a back up destination in the ether somewhere from phone pc and tablet........ but that's far too techie for me!

[/quote]

When i plug into laptop nothing appears on screen for 'options' ??
I'm at a loss what to try.

The annoying part of all this is that my new camera that i took out with me needed a re-charge after 2 days and i had left charger behind  :-[ had to then rely on my phone for photos [uploaded o'k] and my daughter taking future pics with blinking WhatsApp !!! poli

I'm at a loss what to try.

On your phone, select and tap the required photo
From any menu that comes up, choose Share
From the connection options offered, choose your email app
Send yourself an email, and the photo should be attached
Access your email on the PC
Save the photo to hard drive.

Finally---for those kind people who replied to my query I finally have my WhatsApp pics on my PC.

In case anybody else has this problem here is how it worked.---after my useless pressing of every part of my phone and plugging and unplugging etc my son managed to do it.

Went to start--opened Computer which showed drives etc. and my phone, clicked onto phone and transferred pics to Windows Live Photo Gallery and from there [after a few under breath mutterings!] got them over to Picassa.

Success   ;D poli
