The death cert and the census are consistent in suggesting a birth about 1748. This means your Newcastle 1850 baptism may well be a possibility. Try looking to see if that family were slow about baptizing their children or look to see if the parish register shows any more detail such as birth date. Had a quick look at the Bishop's Transcripts but they are not very easy to read for that period at St. John's and have minimal information.
