Catherine McDonnell Rochford Bridge Meath
« on: Saturday 02 May 15 20:38 BST (UK) »
Hi All

We've got an index entry from the net for Catherine McDonnell born Rochford Bridge Meath given as baptised 24th April 1853.

Would anyone have any idea of the parish - probably RC or where the original register would be or how to get access?  Would there be any copies in archives or libraries anywhere?

We're in England so no experts and only have remote access.

Any thoughts at all would be appreciated.

Best wishes

Emms :)

Need to work out the parish first and than hope the one you want will be readable.

Are you sure in said Meath not Westmeath.
RootsIreland has a match for Catherine McDonnell 1853 Rochfordbridge parish RC Westmeath.
To see the full record is pay to view and will be a transcription.

I don't think there is a Roachford Bridge in Meath, it not unheard of to see the West dropped when people think it's a direction rather than part of the name.
Having said that the town is not far from the border with Meath so there may be some overlap of the parish of Roachfordbridge into both counties.

Rochfortbridge is a Catholic parish in Co Westmeath but near the Co Meath border, as someone as already mentioned.  Those county lines can be moved over time or perhaps the reference was to the Diocese of Meath where it is located.

I see the record in the new and free Catholic parish records but will let you try to read it.  The father is Thomas.  It's easy to find but hard to read.
