« on: Sunday 03 May 15 05:57 BST (UK) »

Parties are Thomas Kensett and Sarah Marshall.

I'd like some help please with the name of the Curate and the witnesses.

Thanks,

Fred

Witnesses are Wm & Mary Brocket
The Curate appears to be Rev Bell although I can't ascertain his first name

Having looked at other marriages on the same page (where they seem to be a lot clearer), I agree with GR2 that the Curate was Willm Bell.

Probably worth looking through a few preceding and succeeding pages to see if the witness or curate repeat. This will certainly help reading the name, since some examples are bound to be better
written than others.

On an important marriage in my tree, I found that a witness repeated a lot in the register.
This person wasn't (in fact) connected or related to my tree, but further research showed to be an
undertaker, who lived nearby, who presumably tended to be around the church
a lot, and handy for witness duty!

Hi Fred, some nice drawings here of what the inside looked like at the time before it was built a few years after the marriage.

Thanks bugbear for reminding me not all witnesses are related. I have not found any connection yet to William and Mary. Probably not the local undertaker and his wife though.
