Eureka! I think I found it in FindMyPast newspapers -
"At Newcastle, in Bulmer St. on the 15th inst. aged 23, Elizabeth, wife of Mr William Jackson."
from the Newcastle Courant on 22nd December 1865.

Thanks for looking around, everybody.
Richard
P.S. I wonder where she would have been buried?

P.P.S. Thanks very much Alan. We must have discovered this at the same time.

I also found children born to the "wife of William Jackson" at Fenham Terrace, Newcastle in 1865 and 1866.
Now we know that Elizabeth died in December 1865, this must be a different William Jackson.

P.S. Burial date and/or place?

Bulmer Street was in the Parish of St Andrew, Newcastle upon Tyne.

It's possible, therefore, that the burial was at St Andrews Cemetery which opened in 1857.

The burial books are on microfilm at Tyne & Wear Archives - some Rootschatters visit there from time to time.

Thank you Jen.
I should post a lookup request for the record, right?

I found a baptism at Newcastle St. Andrew 8 May 1865 of William Jackson s/o William and Mary, Spittal Tongues, father's occupation Clerk.  Is this one of the 1865 births of children that you found belonging to a William Jackson?  There is also a Robert Storey Jackson baptised 28 May 1868 to the same couple, same residence and occupation.

Amos Jackson was baptised at Newcastle St. Andrew 10 Apr 1864 s/o William and Elizabeth Jackson. Bulmer St., Spirit Merchant.

The births I found were in the Newspaper where it only states " to the wife of William Jackson at Fenham Terrace of a son" or similar. So I don't have any additional information.

Amos - I have the birth certificate for Amos and I know quite a lot about him. Thanks. He died in 1896.
