Two baptisms at St Lawrence, Pudsey in 1792

7 January 1792 - Joseph son of John, son of Richard, and Hannah his wife - born 15 December 1791

11 March 1792 - Joseph son of James, son of James, and Mary his wife - born 16 February 1792

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
He/she who never made a mistake, never made anything.

Kendall - WRY
Milner - WRY
Appleyard - WRY

There appears to be quite a few Gaunts named Joseph @ 1790/1792!
Esther    WADE    Marriage    1815 11 20       Calverley St Wilfrids Parish Church
Notice the venue.
Will continue to search, watch this space. ::)

[It doesn't necessary follow that a person living in Pudsey marries at Pudsey.]
Tong St James has a record likewise the Calverley marriage is for a resident living Stanningley.

Thank you so much. I had found these two birth records and was hopeful that there may be a way of determining which were his parents. Any thoughts would be gratefully accepted.

I am intending to visit Pudsey later in the year so if you have any suggestions in regard to my family search I would appreciate that. As I am travelling from Australia it may be my only opportunity.

Cheers

Thank you for your added information. I will continue with my hunting. Today I found one married to a Catherine whose son was born in 1817 called Hugh Robinson Gaunt. So more research required. I will certainly take your advice and look up the Calverley Info. Thank you for letting us know that there isn't much to see in Pudsey. We are intending to find accommodation outside of york and just travelling over for the day.
Cheers
