I am helping my sister-in-law.  Her father was Neil James McPhail and his parents were Alexander Edward McPhail and Mabel Alice Hassel. I can not find the ship they arrived into New Zealand?  He also married June Margot Cummins, she is not registered in NZ births which tells me she was born overseas her mother was Ella and family believe the father was Arthur and there was a brother Peter!
Anyone who can help would be appreciated??

Is there a country they came from before heading to NZ.... any little bit of snippet you have, will help the volunteers help you.

He fought in WW11 and was an All Black - so he was already in NZ before WW11 but I don't know year of when they arrived in NZ??

They were in NZ by 1931, living at 417 Manchester Street Christchurch North

Could Neil have been born in NZ?

His brother Clement was born in Christchurch in 1910, so the family were there before then.

Alexander Edward McPhail married Mabel Alice Hasell 1st April 1909 in New Zealand according to an online tree. They give their source as New Zealand BMD.

I think they were born in New Zealand. From
New Zealand, Who's Who in New Zealand and the Western Pacific, 1908, 1925, 1938

Alexander Edward McPhail - managing director of McPhail and Fisher Ltd. 81 Manchester St Christchurch. Born Christchurch 24th June 1881, son of James McPhail and Annie Phillips. Educated Sydenham and Waltham Public Schools.  Married Alice Hassell eldest daughter of Edward William Hassel of Christchurch on 11th April 1909. 3 sons Clement Hassell, Neil James and John Lenard, one daughter.
