Missing sisters Ann and Phebe Amelia BARRATT
« on: Tuesday 12 May 15 19:17 BST (UK) »
I am having trouble finding sisters Ann and Phebe Amelia Barratt. They were the daughters of George and Amelia Barratt.
Ann was born in 1835 Staffordshire, and Phebe Amelia was baptised 9/11/1845 St Leonard's, Bilston.
Ann appeared in the 1841 census (name recorded as Barrot) with the family, but isnt present with them in the 1851, and i can find no sign.
Phebe was not in the 1851 census with her family, so i think she must have died, but i can find no record.
Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated

Any chance - but she should show somewhere in 1851 and 1861?

Thanks for  1841    details  ,   I think  this  is the  family   in 1851

George Barrett  54   born   Tipton    Labourer
 Mary Barrett  41
 Matilda Barrett  18
 George Barrett  13
 Thomas Barrett  10
 Ester Barrett  5
 Benjamin Barrett  8 Mo

 all  are  born Tipton

A tree  on Ancestry   has   Mary   down as Amelia  Haddington    marrying  George  Barratt/Barrett  and    one of the children is  Esther  Amelia    born Sept Q 1845

Thats the family! I think its been transcribed wrong, Mary is definitely Amelia.

My notes have Esther Amelia born 10/08/1845 Daisy Bank, Sedgley and Phebe Amelia baptised 9/11/1845 St Leonard's, Bilston. To be honest im not sure where the birth date for Esther came from. Perhaps they are the same person?

I  can't see an Esther  Amelia   baptism  , so  maybe the  name Phoebe was put down  in error   and it  should read Esther    on the baptism  ?     Esther     goes  on to  marry  in 1867  a William Brown

Marriages Dec 1867

BARRATT  Esther Amelia    Birmingham  6d 180
BROWN  William     Birmingham  6d 180

Yes that's right Esther married Charles brown.
The problem with finding Ann Barratt also is her name is relatively common
