DALY & BOURKE ADARE, CO. LIMERICK

Looking for relatives of my grandmother, Annie Bourke, born Daly on April 5th 1895 - she married my grandfather Arthur Bourke April 28th, 1920 at Kilcolman R.C. church, Ardagh, Co. Limerick. I believe her father was Bartholomew Daly born in Caherline, Co. Limerick around 1858 but not certain. He married Mary Lawler (Lawlor? Laulor?) around 1882, possibly in Co. Clare but again, uncertain.

The only way to be sure of her father's name would be to get her marriage cert and work back from there

If you are correct about her parents than this family look like a match in 1911

First you should get her marriage cert to make certain her father's name. A research/photocopy cert only costs €4.

I can't thank you enough Sinann, this is definitely the family, Bartholomew & Mary's birthdates correct with definite children Margaret born 1889, Annie (My Grandmother) born 1895 and there was a sister known as Kitty whose date matches that of Kathleen in the census. Area is correct too. Didn't know about Annie's brothers, possibly died young. The site you put me onto is great, I've been looking for this information for ages. Now I have to find Bartholomew's parents. Thanks again so much, Ken

Ann, you've been so helpful, many thanks. I just sent the form off applying for the marriage cert. as an emailed copy which as you said, cost 4 Euros. This will hopefully give clearly, mother and father of Bartholomew, sometime only the father.....and so the search goes on. My English side is done but the Irish side is a lot more difficult due to many census records having been destroyed. Thanks so much, Ken
