Mine were all "Iron Turners" most of my Singleton males followed their Fathers into the trade going back to the early 1800's, 2 of my 3 Brothers are also fitters & turners by trade, now retired.

My own grandfather was an ironturner in the Albion Motor Works in Scotstoun but in 1641 ironturners would be as scarce as hens teeth.
