Flynn/Smith Cavan
« on: Sunday 17 May 15 19:20 BST (UK) »
Looking for information on Mary Ellen Flynn born Swellen Cavan 1892 and Peter Francis Flynn born Swellen Cavan 1893.

Parents: Anne Flynn m/s Smith and Patrick Flynn. Their mother Anne died in 1895 after which Patrick married again in 1898. Patrick worked on the railway and Peter appears on the 1911 census in Galway living with another family as a servant. There is no sign of Mary Ellen.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi There

So, is it basically Mary Ellen that you are looking for in 1911 ?

Do you know whom she married, where and when ?

One possibility for her !

Hi tara and hallmark.  It is both Peter and Mary Ellen that I am trying to find out what happened to them. Mary Ellen may have married before 1911 and changed her name but going by something my father said I don't think she did marry but may have gone to America and returned to Ireland at some point whether for a visit or to stay I am not sure. I don't know what happened to Peter after 1911 in Galway.

I can trace all the family from Christopher onwards as they were all my father's full brothers and sisters.  I am not 100% sure if my father ever knew that his father had been married and widowed before he married my grandmother. He may have thought that Mary Ellen was his aunt because of the difference in their ages.

Always the problem with female lines, changing name when marrying etc... but RC reisters are due on line free, 8th July.
