Avondale Maternity Homes

My grandmother and her brother were both born in Bentleigh Ave, Avondale. Her brother in 1931 and nana in 1933.

Was there a maternity home there around that time?

Hi Janette,
I have a copy of nana's second birth certificate(she was illegitimate and her name was changed 6yrs later).
Her mother is listed as living on Rosebank Rd, Avondale.

It seems that the name was changed AFTER the father died.

So messy!!

I see that Bentleigh Ave was a very new road having been council approved in 1927
