Decifering help
« on: Monday 18 May 15 23:41 BST (UK) »
I have attached the top of a marriage certificate.  I can hardly read it but my best guess for the parish is Llanfihangel Pontymoile, Monmouthshire.  Any ideas?  These folks moved to Pennsylvania USA shortly after marriage.  Their first child was named Trifena/Triphena.  Was that a popular Welsh name in the 1880's?

Thanks for any help.

Hi

From a couple of websites it looks like Triphena is of Greek origin

Hi Janis, The name Tryphena and it's various spellings appear twice in my wife's ancestor's, it was used  now and then up to about 1930, but it was not a very popular name.
