It has recently come to my attention that the Scottish Records Society is digitizing past publications and making them available online for free.

this includes

• Commissariot Record of Edinburgh: Register of Testaments, 1701 to 1800
• Register of Burials in the Chapel Royal or Abbey of Holyrood House, 1706-1900
• Register of Interments in the Greyfriars Burying Ground, Edinburgh 1656-1700 (presented by Fraser Trustees)
• Register of Marriages for the Parish of Edinburgh, 1595-1700
• Register of Apprentices of the City of Edinburgh, 1583-1666
• Roll of Edinburgh Burgesses and Guild Brethren, 1406-1700

and many more.
